Meet The Judges 3: Nomoreloss

OLUMUYIWA OSINUGA aka NOMORELOSS was born in Lagos Western Nigeria in the 70's. Nomoreloss is a multitalented entertainer - a singer/songwriter, producer and artistes' manager whose debut album in 1999 Kilode. was a national hit which stayed on the countdown and billboards across Nigeria for a record of eight {8} months and was number one for 26 weeks. He started out in the world of entertainment as a rapper while in high school and later on switched to master of ceremony at various events. An accomplished stand -up comedian, mc , musical video director as well as a television host.
 
He is also a producer of both music and television programs. He has directed musical videos for such artists like LEXY DOO, JAGUNLABI, JAH BORNE, CIMION, the gospel sensation FOLAKE UMOSEN and was project coordinator and producer for the video cd for the controversial rapper RUGGED MAN’S THY KINGDOM COME ALBUM. While studying economics at the ogun state university, he found expression for his musical side with the group HARMONY which was an r and b group which was founded by him and a partner SMITH EFEKE. Harmony released three singles. The singles went on to number one status in Nigeria averaging 17 weeks on the billboards. The singles were IYANIWURA, THINKING and YAGO. He wrote all the songs. 
 
While with the group, he led them to win the artist of the month at the French cultural center and group of the month that opened the show for the great TONY ALLEN. In 1999 Nomoreloss released the first single from his sophomore album titled kilode. This became a national hit which stayed on the countdown and billboards across Nigeria for a record of eight {8} months and was number one for 26 weeks. The song left many in amazement at not only his songwriting skills but also his vocal dexterity. The song went on to change the perception of the music community and spurred other musicians to strive to such level of finesse in musical composition and delivery. In 2003 he released a follow up single titled IYAWO ASIKO which was inspired by the highlife legend ORLANDO OWOH . An upbeat re-mix , it stamped the name NOMORELOSS as not only a singer but also a researcher of music that pays attention to quality in songwriting and composition as well as delivery. The song went on to feature predominantly on every radio and television countdown staying at number one for an average of twenty-six {26} weeks. It made the record of being the longest song at number on the MTN yellow top ten countdown. The song also stayed on such countdown and billboard ratings as the STARCOMMS , ECONET, VIRGIN ATLANTIC , COOLFM, RHYTHM 93.7FM,STAR FM, METRO FM, EKO FM, BRILLA FM and various private radio station ratings. 
 
The album titled INSPIRED was released in 2003 and was voted one of the best albums released within that year. Nomoreloss was nominated under five categories in the AWARD FOR MUSICAL EXCELLENCE IN NIGERIA{A.M.E.N} AWARDS which included BEST MALE VOCALIST, SONG OF THE YEAR, BEST NEW ACT, BEST ACT SOLO. He released a third single titled SURU from the same album that also went on to be a number one song in Nigeria. This effort also received positive acceptance. In 2004, he released a new single titled OLOLUFE {MY DEAR BELOVED} a ballad from his second album titled LET DEM SAY. He set another record as the first ballad to climb so fast and hold on to the number one spot on the national billboards in Nigeria for so long as it stayed as a number one non-mover for over twenty {20} weeks and held it down on the countdown for over thirty two{32}weeks. 
 
In 2005, he released another single titled LET DEM SAY. The song was produced by PAUL PLAY DAIRO .This was another record feat as this was the fifth single released by NOMORELOSS that made it to the number one spot and held it down for another record time of 15 weeks and remained on the countdown for 26 weeks. The album LET DEM SAY was released on December 26 2006 containing 16 tracks that featured such great producers as PAUL PLAY DAIRO, MR DAZ, MR SMITH, SEGUN FAKEYE, AJ NNAMDI, EMEKA AKA PHAT MAN and ARIFF AMOO. With role models such as EBENEZER OBEY, KING SUNNY ADE, FELA ANIKULAPO KUTI, ORLANDO OWOH, ORLANDO JULIUS, IK DAIRO, KING WASIU AYINDE MARSHAL{KWAM 1}, it is easy to see where and how this music researcher /songwriter/singer draws his inspiration. With a fusion of R&B, pop, jazz, reggae and jazz with an underlying tone of West African high life, his conviction that art must take material from its environment has led him to create a style that is unique in its appeal but most certainly soulful in its delivery. It has been described by music scholars as AFRO SOUL. 
 
As a television and radio presenter, he has appeared and anchored such shows as: • Morning drive on RHYTHM 93.7 FM with Nanya diale. • TOP TEN COUNT DOWN with G.M.L on STAR FM. • HANGING WITH THE BOYS ON EKO FM. • TOP TEN ON M.B.I [MINAJ BROADCAST INTERNATIONAL]. • GROOVOIDZ ON MINAJ BROADCAST INTERNATIONAL. • L.G KARAOKE SHOW. • XTREME CLUBBING WITH NIGEZIE [CLUB NOMORELOSS]. • LAUGH PATTERNS WITH TAJUDEEN ADEPETU PRODUCTIONS. As an mc/comedian, he has anchored various functions such as, HARP RELAUNCH PARTY, SMIRNOFF ICE INTRO PARTY, WAPCO END OF YEAR BASH, MONTHLY SHOWCASE AT MOTHER LAND[ LAGBAJA],WORLD MUSIC DAY[ ALLIANCE FRANCAISE. Nomoreloss is currently the C.E.O of Create Management which is an all round talent management agency which also has a visual and audio visual production unit.
